Legacy Restoration is Hiring a Collections Specialist Near Plymouth, MN

We are seeking an experienced collector to join our growing business. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing customer accounts, and collecting outstanding debts owed to the company. The collector will ensure timely payments and maintain positive relationships with customers. You will be responsible for contacting customers who have outstanding accounts and work towards resolving any outstanding balances.

Collection Specialist

  • Leads the debt collection process for assigned customers.
  • Contacts customers by phone, email, and mail to recover a debt.
  • Keeps detailed notes and records of all communications and actions.
  • Investigate historical data for each debt.
  • Answers questions customer have about their invoice.
  • Follows up with customers regarding disputes.
  • Negotiates partial repayments and payment plans when possible.
  • Keeps track of payment due dates and sends reminders.
  • Follow up on late payment notices.
  • Updates the account status when the debt has been paid.
  • Maintains confidentiality and the upmost discretion.
  • Sends necessary paperwork to customers and attorney if lien action is required.
  • Collaborates with lawyers if legal action is required.
  • Complies with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations as well as company policies.

Education:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required, bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or related field preferred.
  • At least 1 years of collections, customer service, or sales experience is required.
  • Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel); working knowledge of databases, or financial software a plus.
